This
is a project of mine that was done for Saints Peter and Paul
R.C. Church in Great Meadow, N. J. It was a twelve by sixteen
foot oil painting done on a wood support with built up areas
of papier mache, in order to add extra dimension and texture.
The
Church Installation was a pleasure and a challenge to design
and make. The day it was installed it took ten to twelve men
to secure it in the two halves that it took to finish. This
piece was not intended to be a permanent part of the church's
altar, but rather was supposed to be a temporary "decoration"
until the parish determined what it needed to satisfy the church
community's needs in this capacity. It remained there for around
two years.
